Language Line Services Names Global Sales Management Veteran Robert Koen New VP, General Manager of General Market Sales

MONTEREY, Calif., Oct. 13, 2011 — Language Line Services, the global leader in interpretation and translation services, announced today it named Robert Koen new vice president and general manager for General Market Sales.

"Robert is forward-thinking and has a proven record of success in sales leadership, new and international market penetration, business development, account management, consultative selling and negotiation. Most recently, Robert led the System Integrator channel for Alcatel Lucent — Enterprise/Genesys Group as senior director of Channel Sales of the Americas, where he was instrumental in re-defining and implementing the group's partner strategy. Robert helped Alcatel Lucent dramatically increase its revenue generated through partners in North America, and his teams helped close and manage key enterprise deals with Fortune 100 accounts and local and federal government agencies.

With a 15-year-plus track record driving revenue and business expansion with partners and alliances, Robert joins Language Line Services and its executive team and will oversee the company's General Markets, Government and Indirect sales teams.

Originally from South Africa, Robert managed and grew the distribution business for Lotus/IBM. He then relocated to the United Kingdom while with IBM and joined the marketing team for IBM's global strategic alliances. During his long tenure with IBM, he delivered revenue through partners and alliances in more than 30 countries.

Robert earned his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and his Master of Marketing from Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom.
