The move will provide Metro Detroit's growing foodie and service industry audience the opportunity to hear the segments on-air three times daily at 5pm, 7pm and at 10pm as restaurant service wraps up for service industry employees. The show will also reside on The River website in podcast format, and in print, with a soon-to-be-announced media partner. Featured on the River website will be bonus content from guest interviews, including recipes and special offers from the highlighted restaurants.  This will offer listeners more background on Detroit's favorite culinary personalities.

The format expansion begins with the show airing the week of June 1.

"Lick the Plate has already proven to be very popular with Detroit foodies and the restaurant community in podcast format and we see this as an opportunity to bring it to an even wider audience by exposing it to our sizeable afternoon drive and evening audience on-air," said Matt Franklin, Program Director at 93.9 The River.  He added, "The bonus content, and restaurant discounts on the website and the print element will just expand that audience and add even more value for our listeners and sponsors."

David Boylan, producer and host of Lick the Plate has worked with this multi-platform format with the show in San Diego and was very encouraged by the similar move on The River.  "While our podcasts for Lick the Plate on The River are drawing strong numbers, adding the on-air, print, and bonus content elements enables me to expose Detroit's talented culinary community to a huge audience. Guests still get excited about hearing themselves on the radio, it's a powerful medium."

Kevin Miller, General Sales Manager for Bell Media in Detroit was equally enthused about the upcoming changes. "This is a dream scenario for Detroit advertisers looking reach this affluent, loyal foodie audience that is growing daily.  Today's advertisers are sophisticated and know that this requires a mix of traditional and digital mediums and Lick the Plate on The River now offers that."
