As an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney from 2008 to 2010, Mr. Oliver prosecuted felony, misdemeanor and traffic offenses. Mr. Oliver also served as a special prosecutor on felony drug and probation violations, and authored multiple appellate briefs to the Virginia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Virginia.

Mr. Oliver entered private practice in 2010, and since that time has represented clients across Northern Virginia in felony, misdemeanor and traffic cases. He has also gained extensive experience in juvenile criminal matters in Fairfax County and surrounding jurisdictions.

Mr. Oliver will now bring his experience as a prosecutor and defense attorney to bear on behalf of clients at Livesay & Myers, P.C. Having practiced now on both sides of the courtroom, he has gained valuable insights into the thought patterns, strategies, and tactics of the government in a criminal case – and knows where to look for faults in the evidence and weaknesses in the government's case.

Mr. Oliver is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia. He has also been admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia.

Mr. Oliver is a member of the Fairfax Bar Association, Arlington County Bar Association, Prince William County Bar Association, and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Oliver received his juris doctorate from George Washington University Law School in 2008 and his bachelor's degree from The College of William & Mary in 2005.

Originally from Richmond, Mr. Oliver is a lifelong resident of Virginia and currently lives in Northern Virginia with his wife, Cody.
