Local Surfers and Local Artists Unite in Morro Bay for the Inaugural Morro Bay Surfboard Art Festival

Filled with art galleries and surf shops, Morro Bay shines a light on cultural bonds in this active fishing village

MORRO BAY, Calif., Oct. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Chicago displayed the Cows on Parade Art Exhibit, artists in San Francisco left their painted heart sculptures all over town. Now, in the seaside village of Morro Bay, surfboards take center stage for charity at the inaugural Morro Bay Surfboard Art Festival. Visitors and locals alike will be able to get up close and personal with the 22 surfboard works of art designed by local artists and on display throughout the city (including the Morro Bay Visitor Center) from November 1 – 28, 2014.

The idea of surfboards and artists coming together in Morro Bay is not surprising when you consider the long established romance between surfers and the picturesque beach community, as well as the love affair between this seaside town and artists.
