Oregon Coast Beaches are often windy so Loon Lake, protected from the coastal winds by the tall trees that surround the entire lake, provides a vacation spot with mild temperatures for swimming, boating and play at the Resort's sandy beach.

The Resort, which sits on one mile of Loon Lake shore, offers lodging in cottages and cabins with full kitchens, and Yurts or camping with full hook-up RV sites or tent sites.

The Marina offers boat rentals of many types including jet skis, ski boat and accessories, pontoon boat, fishing boat, kayaks, paddleboats and canoes. The two-mile long lake provides plenty of space for boating fun and fishing with over 7,000 trout stocked each year.

Staff planned activities such as a sailboat derby, volleyball contests, barbeques, pancake breakfasts, and scavenger hunts take place on weekends and a karaoke week is scheduled for August. Complete details can be found on the Loon Lake Lodge website events calendar.

The on-site deli offers snacks and quick meals that can be enjoyed on the huge deck that overlooks the lake or prepared to go for picnics and hiking in the surrounding forests. The convenience store and gift shop are well stocked for groceries and souvenir purchases.

The famous Sand Dunes of the Oregon Central Coast are within a short drive from Loon Lake, as well as the coastal towns of Reedsport, where an annual chainsaw carving competition is held on Father's Day, and the charming town of Florence on the Siuslaw River.

Nearby wineries in Elkton and Roseburg have tasting rooms and events scheduled throughout the summer.
