LWG Consulting Announces Formation of Forensic Engineering Group

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Jan. 9, 2007 — LWG Consulting, a prominent provider of technical expertise regarding equipment and system failures, has announced the formation of a group solely dedicated to providing forensic engineering services to insurers, corporations and law firms.

LWG's President, Robert Wedoff, commented, "We see strong demand for the delivery of forensic engineering capabilities with the level of customer service and quick turnaround for which LWG is known. While we have been offering forensic services as an extension of our technical consulting practice for quite some time now, the formation of this new group enables us to really focus on addressing specific client needs in areas such as insurance subrogation and product liability claim investigations."

The service provides clients with engineering expertise to determine the cause of incidents that involve electrical equipment and systems such as fires, injury, breakdown, product liability and catastrophic failures. The practice will be named LWG Forensic Engineering and will be offered initially out of the LWG offices in Northbrook, Illinois; Columbus, Ohio; and Dallas, Texas.

Mamoon Alyah, PE, Director of Engineering, will lead the group. He is tasked with expansion of the forensic service across all 15 of LWG's offices throughout the United States and Canada. Mr. Alyah joined LWG in 1993 and has been instrumental in developing the practice in several locations over recent years. He said, "We are excited about being able to address our clients' growing needs for objective investigations and professional expert testimony." He added, "It goes without saying that our technical and investigatory skills rival those of any firm. But, where we really shine is in our understanding of the business needs of the insurance claims industry and our ability to present our findings and opinions in a clear, understandable manner in the court room."

Since it was founded in 1984, LWG Consulting has supported insurers, independent adjusters, self-insured companies and attorneys with expertise in losses involving high-technology equipment, causal analysis, data recovery, restoration and salvage.
