"I am extremely honored to have been invited to be the keynote speaker at the Barbara Sinatra Center for Abused Children Annual Champion Honors Luncheon. The Center provides much-needed vital services for kids and I'm particularly pleased that our Honorary President of the American League, Jackie Autry, is also being honored at this event. I look forward to joining everyone along with many of Baseball's greats at this luncheon," said Selig.

The Children's Center's Uncles and Aunts Club Co-Chairs Hal Gershowitz, Bill Nicholson, Angie Gerber and Leisa Austin also announced that Wells Fargo Bank will be the presenting sponsor, and that Mrs. Jackie Autry, a Trustee of the Barbara Sinatra Center, and the Honorary President of the American League will also be honored at the luncheon.

"We are delighted Commissioner Selig is keynoting our annual luncheon. He has the highest regard for the Barbara Sinatra Center and the difference it makes in the lives of the children it serves," Gershowitz said. "We are excited that Wells Fargo is partnering with the Center to make our annual luncheon one of the premier events of the 2014 season," Gershowitz added.

Selig has led the way toward implementation of many of the game's structural changes, including the expanded Wild Card playoff format, Interleague Play, realignment, restoration of the rulebook strike zone, consolidation of the leagues' administrative functions and instant replay. In August 2002, Selig engineered an historic labor agreement with the Major League Baseball Players Association that avoided a work stoppage for the first time in 30 years and included meaningful revenue sharing among the clubs. In October 2006 and again in November 2011, MLB and the MLBPA continued the unprecedented era of labor peace by reaching new five-year collective bargaining agreements. By the end of the current agreement, baseball will have gone at least 21 years without a strike or a lockout, the longest period of uninterrupted play since the inception of the collective bargaining relationship.

"Wells Fargo Bank is honored to support the Barbara Sinatra Center for Abused Children which provides such vital services to these young victims of abuse," said Gary D Hall, Senior Vice President.
