The Meetings Quest Opening Celebration, sponsored by the Bloomington CVB and Visit St. Paul, will begin with a dinner reception hosted by the Pool & Yacht Club. Located on the banks of the Mississippi River, the Pool & Yacht Club provides waterfront views in an intimate setting. Following dinner, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy dessert during a chartered boat cruise on the Betsey Northrup, a vessel provided by Padelford Riverboats. While aboard, guests can explore the main deck or step out onto the second, open-air deck to enjoy skyline views.

"Meetings Quest aims to allow our attendees to experience some of what makes our host destinations unique," said Timothy Schneider, publisher of Association News, which organizes Meetings Quest. "Our Opening Celebration for Meetings Quest in Bloomington will do that in a very memorable way."

In addition to the Opening Celebration, Meetings Quest in Bloomington will include a half-day of hot-topic educational programming featuring expert presenters, a keynote address and an afternoon appointment-based expo. Steven Hacker, author of the monthly "Association Doctor" column for Association News, will facilitate a Learning Lab on crisis management and event security. Jennifer Hoff of Taffy Event Strategies will lead a session on how drones are redefining the future of events.

The entertaining keynote address will feature IndyCar racing legend Lyn St. James, who will share insights on how to develop a viable action plan that can help meeting planners accelerate their success. Meeting Quest in Bloomington will conclude with an afternoon trade show, at which destinations from across the country will exhibit.
