Mercier Therapy Creator Produces New Fertility Documentary

Film explores noninvasive Mercier manual therapy as natural and effective solution to fertility issues

SAINT CHARLES, Ill., Sept. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — With a heart for couples facing what can sometimes be the intimidating problem of conception, Jennifer Mercier, a Holistic Women's Health Practitioner and the Creator of Mercier Therapy, hopes to bring understanding and help with the production of a documentary film she has entitled "Fertility." The film will change the way couples look at infertility as it will poignantly address Mercier's successfully developed resolution to fertility issues and pelvic pain as it explores her new manual therapy called Mercier.

A women's health practitioner since 1999 Mercier developed the therapy program in 2005 looking for a resolution to her own pain from fourth stage endometriosis. With her therapeutic approach not only did her pain subside but she was able to conceive. It was then after considerable research and a four-year study, which was completed in 2012, that a conclusion was made. Like herself, a substantial 83% of her infertility clients had become pregnant naturally within a year after completing a regime of Mercier Therapy. This is a staggering opposite to the IVF statistics on the CDC's website that show a 29% average success rate.

"Medical procedures are invasive and they may cause health risks later in a women's life," said Mercier. "The documentary will ask couples to have a look at the overwhelming evidence for Mercier Therapy and consider trying a more noninvasive approach." The Mercier Therapy Shared Journey Fertility program includes six hours of pelvic organ manipulation, supportive supplements and a continual monitoring of the client's cycles with the help of Mercier's support. The majority of Mercier's therapy clients have no medical intervention.

The film's contributors will include Patrick Hart, M.S., OMD, D.M. (P), who specializes in integrative health care and holistic nutrition, and Kristine Tohtz, DC, who works in Chiropractic and Acupuncture as well as Pregnancy and Pediatric Care. Contributors also will include Zvi Binor, MD, who specializes in reproductive endocrinology and infertility; Anthony Caruso, MPH, MD, Catholic Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist with fifteen years of experience in IVF and Artificial Insemination; Thomas Myers, a certified Touch-In Parenting Instructor; Sarah Pomaro, a yoga instructor who conceived a short 4 months after finishing the Mercier Protocol; as well as several couples sharing their stories on their journey to pregnancy.

Mercier has two published works. Mercier's book was published in 2010 and is entitled "Women's Optimal Pelvic Health." Mercier's study, "Mercier Therapy Helps Infertile Women Achieve Pregnancy" was published in the Spring of 2013 in the Midwifery Today journal and will be presented in Dubai at the World Congress of Low Back and Pelvic Pain in October 2013.  She hopes to fund the "Fertility" documentary project with the help of an Indigogo Crowdfunding Project. The film will be released for its premiere in May 2014.
