'MERCY' for the Gulf: Pauli Carman's New Recording Benefits Oil Spill Relief

LAS VEGAS, July 14, 2010 — Multi-platinum recording artist Pauli Carman has switched gears from writing/producing his current project to record "MERCY," his rendition of the provocative environmental anthem hit "Mercy, Mercy Me" recorded originally by the late singer Marvin Gaye. Gaye wrote and released this eerily prophetic tune for the landmark album "What's Going On" almost forty years ago.

Carman was inspired and irresistibly compelled to record "MERCY" as he followed the daily news of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The increasing loss of marine life and wildlife, damage to the U.S. fishing and tourism industry, and watching the oil creeping treacherously toward the U.S. coastline conjured up feelings of urgency to contribute in whatever way he could.

Best known as the lead vocalist for the Pop/R&B group "Champaign," Carman is hoping to make a difference by donating generously to this worthy cause. "MERCY" is now available at Amazon and iTunes (http://www.MercyForTheGulf.com), the designated proceeds to be donated to The Greater New Orleans Foundation / Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund in order to help support regional clean-up efforts and organizations focused on the restoration and preservation of the Louisiana wetlands and wildlife.

Pauli Carman and "Champaign" catapulted to the top of the music charts in the Pop, Soul, R&B and Easy Listening genres with the #1 hits "How 'Bout Us" and "Try Again," still being played today. He has just released his CD Album #8, "Get Back 2 Love," available at iTunes.
