LOS ANGELES, March 10, 2011 — Mikawaya, the original creator of Mochi Ice Cream, has launched a viral video song contest on http://www.mochiicecream.com and on their Facebook fan page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mochi-Ice-Cream/98033016935) in which visitors can post homemade Mochi Ice Cream videos of them singing about Mikawaya Mochi to the website, where they are voted on for a chance to win a Mikawaya Mochi-engraved 8GB Apple iTouch. The intent of the contest is to increase fan interaction online and to further raise awareness of the product through a creative and fun avenue.
President of Mikawaya, Frances Hashimoto, explains, "We are excited to see how fans of Mikawaya Mochi have fun with this promotion and show their love for Mochi ice cream. This is a wonderful way for Mochi lovers to interact and be rewarded for their creativity and love of our product."
Contest submissions will be accepted through June 10th, giving users 12 weeks to film and post a song. Grand prize winner, along with five first place winners, will be announced on June 14th. One grand prize winner will be awarded the Apple iTouch and five first place winners will receive a Mikawaya Mochi Ice Cream branded T-shirt and sticker sets.
