The 1st generation WiQiQi wireless charger sets for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S3 were a hit with both retailers and users because the ultra thin receivers fit inside the phone-under the back covers and kept the original thin body and lightweight designs. Therefore, the phones fit into standard cases and docks.
In contrast, Samsung's own $90 wireless charger add-on package for the S4 has the receiver as part of a thicker replacement back cover which makes the phone unable to fit into most cases and docks. The charging pad also does not come with an AC adapter and must be powered by the Samsung phone charger.
The two new 2nd generation WiQiQi charging pads have improvements such as lower heat, better wireless connection, and automatic power reduction when the battery is full. Both can also work with any Qi compatible devices.
