Montblanc Introduces Award for Top Breeders' Cup Challenge/World Championships Owner
NEW YORK, Oct. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Montblanc, manufacturer of luxury handcrafted timepieces, has been named of the official "TIMEWRITER" for the 2013 Breeders' Cup World Championships. The partnership between Montblanc and Breeders' Cup launched in 2009, designated Montblanc as the exclusive partner in the timing category for the 2013 Breeders' Cup. The 30th Breeders' Cup World Championships, held at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA, is thoroughbred racing's most prestigious global event, consisting of 14 races and $27 million in purses and awards.
Montblanc is also continuing the 2013 Star Rieussec Award, named after Montblanc's eponymous timepiece. The Award will be presented to the winning owner of a Breeders' Cup Challenge race, deemed the Star Performance, through a vote of industry experts and a fan vote conducted via social media. The Breeders' Cup Challenge is a global series of 67 stakes races, whose winners earn automatic starting positions into the Breeders' Cup World Championships.
