Montblanc and Texas Children's Cancer Center Encourage Families to Give a Gift that Counts this Holiday Season

HOUSTON, Dec. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Continuing their unique charitable partnership, Montblanc and Texas Children's Cancer Center have launched a new initiative allowing people across the United States to show their support for children and adolescents fighting cancer by providing an opportunity to purchase a specially designed bracelet to be given to the parent of a pediatric cancer patient this holiday season. Purchase the bracelet as a gift for the parent of a Cancer Center patient online by visiting: www.montblanc.com/texaschildrenshospital/jointocare.

By giving this gift not only will a visual reminder of support be shown every time the bracelet is worn, but for every bracelet sold a portion of proceeds is donated by Montblanc to Texas Children's Cancer Center to support patient care and research.

"We are deeply appreciative of Montblanc's commitment and support to help children with cancer," said Dr. David Poplack, director of Texas Children's Cancer Center. "We encourage everyone to join Montblanc and show their support and brighten the holiday season for families of children with cancer by purchasing a bracelet which, through the donated proceeds, will also help move us closer to finding a cure for pediatric cancer."

To show personal commitment to this cause, Montblanc created the unique collection of woven leather bracelets marking the first time Montblanc has aligned with a regional hospital, demonstrating its long international heritage of social responsibility. This collection of bracelets is exquisitely crafted of black woven leather featuring a sterling silver clasp adorned with the distinctive Texas Children's Hospital logo.

Texas Children's Cancer Center – located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston – is internationally renowned and is the largest pediatric cancer center in the United States treating more children with cancer than any other center in the U.S.

Social commitment is an integral part of Montblanc's brand philosophy. Charitable partnerships in previous years include UNICEF, for which Montblanc contributed over $1 million to education and literacy programs for children worldwide, along with Best Buddies International, a global non-profit organization that creates opportunities for friendship, employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Most recently, Montblanc joined forces with the Princess Grace Foundation-USA, offering charitable support to programs dedicated to identifying and assisting emerging talent in theatre, dance and film by awarding grants in the form of scholarships, apprenticeships and fellowships.

The Montblanc Texas Children's Hospital Bracelet is available in Montblanc boutiques nationwide and can be purchased online by visiting: www.montblanc.com/texaschildrenshospital/jointocare.
