Moving from New Orleans to Orlando for the first time, this second annual conference for K-5 educators provides an opportunity for teachers to discover new ways to drive success in the classroom by providing hundreds of impactful, proven strategies that can be implemented into all content areas immediately.

The conference's subtitle "Practical Strategies in an Era of High Expectations," appropriately reflects the rigor, teachable moments, and transformational teaching tactics illustrated within the event to elevate students' academic achievement and keep educators energized, motivated, and ready to face the challenges of a new school year. Expert presenters will guide educators through up close and personal learning, which will ensure that solutions can be delivered confidently upon return to the classroom.

"We are so excited to be hosting this event again this year," enthuses SDE Program Planner Kymra Kurinskas. "Last year's event was a huge hit among K-5 teachers looking for help with teaching to the standards —This year promises even more of the deep content with the ready-to-implement strategies that teachers truly need."

Back by popular demand, the conference is headlined by best-selling author and teacher favorite Dr. Jean Feldman, who will offer content in the lower grades, including sessions on centers and recipes for reading success. LeAnn Nickelsen joins the conference this year to present on differentiation, strategies for English Language Learners, formative assessments, and ways to help students stay motivated and engaged throughout the day.

Also returning is award-winning educator and motivator Charles Beaman, Ed.D, who will bring a strong focus on administrators and how they are affected by recent changes in standards and student populations. Beaman will host the conference-opening keynote address, and will also feature sessions on solving disciplinary problems, at-risk strategies for struggling students, and motivating staff.

Other popular presenters include Kim Adsit, Melissa Dickson, Jim Grant, Kathy Griffin, Catherine Kuhns, Jennifer McDonough, Laureen Reynolds, and more.

The conference is full of "extras" and collaborative moments, including a poolside Meet & Greet event where educators can network with colleagues, relax, and meet key presenters, as well as daily "Take-Away Tips," that serve as time-savers, motivational tools, and knowledge-builders between presentation sessions. The event is hosted at the exciting DoubleTree at the Entrance to Universal Orlando, and SDE has partnered with VisitOrlando.com to help enhance the conference experience by providing discounted theme park and attraction tickets specifically for attendees.

"Innovative, interactive and highly engaging sessions are at the core of Reading, Writing, Math & More!" Kurinskas says confidently. "When planning the event, we specifically focused on giving educators and administrators targeted, grade level-specific sessions to really address each teacher's pain points."

All sessions are designed to meet the biggest challenges educators are experiences in the classroom today, including:
