Silver is a highly sought-after professional development speaker known for her optimistic and humorous style. She is an award-winning educator with 30 years of experience as a classroom teacher, staff development instructor, and university professor. Silver's numerous recognitions include being named the Louisiana State Teacher of the Year. Her bestselling book, Drumming to the Beat of Different Marchers: Finding the Rhythm for Differentiated Learning, has been recognized for its insights into research-based models, teaching strategies, management tips, and inspirational "from-the-heart" lessons for addressing individual differences.

"My mission is to remind teachers of how important they are in the lives of children, highlighting both learning theory as well as tools for communication," says Silver. "I firmly believe that teachers need to be having fun, and staying in touch with their passion, to make their biggest impact in the classroom."

Also presenting at the event is popular early childhood expert Deanna Jump. For more than 20 years, Jump has worked in both kindergarten and first grade classrooms, winning multiple "Teacher of the Year" awards. She has a passion for creating and sharing grade-level-appropriate units and activities that incorporate the standards and help make learning fun again. Jump is the all-time top seller on TeachersPayTeachers.com.

In addition to Silver and Jump, I Teach K! will also feature popular presenter, author, and educator, Kim Adsit. Pulling from her more than 20 years of classroom experience, Adsit shares practical, teacher-tested strategies that are grounded in strong research-based practices and provide teachers with the knowledge they require to provide a rigorous curriculum that still meets the developmental needs of their youngest learners. She is the co-author of five books, including Bookmaking Bonanza and Read with Ease, and is best known for her use of dollar store items and other low- or no-cost novelties that help develop dendrites and increase a child's potential to learn.

I Teach K! is the largest kindergarten conference of its kind, and was developed and programmed by a team of experts addressing the latest research and developing trends. Attendees' days will consist of multiple breakout sessions, networking events and opportunities, a lively exhibit hall, and "add-on" events, including a Morning Mindfulness kickoff, an educator Meet & Greet, a bonus Sketch Noting session, afternoon storytelling session with Story Pirates, a camaraderie booth, and innovative take-away tips. New and experienced teachers will master both the basics every classroom educator needs and the groundbreaking ideas that lead to true transformation. Attendees may choose from numerous concurrent sessions, in a wide variety of learning formats—including hands-on, make & takes, and video-based see-it-in-action sessions.

The I Teach K! conference is one of eight national conferences that SDE hosts each summer, divided between Las Vegas, Chicago, and Orlando.
