U.S. News & World Report Reveals Its Rankings of America's Top Schools with Best Colleges 2013

The nation's most-trusted source for college rankings releases its list for 2013 with information on hundreds of colleges and universities across the nation

TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — U.S. News & World Report today released Best Colleges 2013, a world-renowned and respected source for the best America has to offer in higher education.

A fixture in higher education since its debut in 1983, the annual list is the nation's most-trusted ranking of colleges and universities that award undergraduate degrees.

Best Colleges 2013 includes rankings of the best universities and colleges nationally and regionally, as well as best liberal arts schools and best value schools (high quality programs offered at a lower cost).

Complementing Best Colleges 2013 is U.S. News University Directory, which provides the opportunity for students to connect directly with traditional on-campus schools as well as accredited online universities. The directory provides higher education news as well as information on hundreds of college degrees and careers. The directory also offers the complete Best Colleges 2013 listings.

Harvard University and Princeton University are tied at the top of the national rankings in Best Colleges 2013, just as they were last year. They are again followed by Yale University and Columbia University, although this year the University of Chicago has moved into a fourth-place tie with Columbia.

Among national liberal arts colleges, U.S. News & World Report ranked Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., at the top of the list, followed by Amherst College, Swarthmore College, Middlebury College and Pomona College.

"There's not a better place to start you search for the right college," said Matthew Speer, director of sales and marketing for U.S. News University Connection. "U.S. News provides the best-known and most-trusted college rankings in the business. We're thrilled to offer students a chance to view the rankings as well as connect with colleges and learn about specific programs."
