North Texas Exit Planning Institute Chapter to Host Educational Event for Professional Advisors

Professional Advisors Come Together in Collaborative Atmosphere to Benefit Clients

DALLAS, Aug. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — The Exit Planning Institute (EPI) and the North Texas Chapter of EPI (NTX EPI) are set to host a robust educational event on the significant importance of exit planning on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 7:30 a.m. at the Campbell Centre in Dallas, Texas. The event is free to professional advisors and business owners. The exit plan asks and answers all the business, personal, financial, legal and tax questions involved in selling a privately held business. Its purpose is to maximize the value of the business at the time of exit, minimize the amount of taxes paid and ensure that the business owner is able to accomplish all his or her personal and financial goals in the process.

There are 10,000 baby boomers turning 65 every day and this generation owns 63% of all privately-held businesses in the United States. This period will represent an estimated $10 trillion wealth transfer, the largest in the history of mankind. With those facts, alarming news is that 75% of business owners profoundly regret selling their business after one year of doing it and that 80% of businesses in the United States are not salable.

To address these alarming statistics and create a forum where advisors representing the disciplines needed to successfully exit a business can collaborate on the process of exit planning and business succession advisors have started the North Texas Chapter of the Exit Planning Institute. Leading this local group are Joan Ridley CFP®, CBI, CEPA of Business Wealth Solutions, Steve Allison CEPA of SES Advisors, Nancy Haney CEPA of Underwood Perkins, Brian Wendler of National Business Valuation Services, John Kacinski of The Kacinski/Grayson Group, Julie Toler of Lee Financial Corp. and Robert Hill of Waterview Advisors.

The event will play host to several discussions amongst advisors and will have keynote speaker Chris Snider CEPA, President & CEO of the Exit Planning Institute, a sought after leader in exit planning and value creation, who will speak to the concept and benefits of exit planning. This North Texas event is a stop on the roadmap to the International Exit Planning Event of the Year, the International Exit Planning Institute Conference in Cleveland, Ohio beginning on September 17, 2013 where 250 Certified Exit Planning Advisors (CEPA) from five different countries will join other professional advisors in a three day exit planning educational conference.
