"With the addition of this fully featured event layout software tool, we now offer 26 timesaving tools inside our Web-based software," says Jeff Kear, co-owner/founder of Planning Pod. "So now event planners and venues can quickly create to-scale, professional-quality floor plans and seating charts as well as manage all their event details in one convenient place. That's great news for event pros who no longer want to maintain or shell out for multiple apps to manage their events and business."

Convenience is the operative term for this new floor plan software tool. Drag-and-drop functionality and intuitive features mean no CAD or design software experience is necessary. This makes it easy to set up a custom room size; drop in architectural elements like doors, walls, columns and bump outs; and then start placing and arranging tables, chairs, stages, dance floors and more.

"We built our tool for practically any kind of setup. Banquet, classroom, auditorium, conference room or any variation. Our tool can handle it," says Kear. "It's great for laying out anything from receptions, weddings and cocktail parties to conferences and meetings."

Like other leading table plan software apps, this new tool lets users create custom-sized round, rectangular, square and oval tables as well as specify chair counts. And it allows users customize the color, labels and rotation of floorplan elements as well as quickly duplicate them to save time.

However, it also integrates with Planning Pod's flexible guest list tool so users can attach a guest list to a floor plan and start placing guests at seats.

"As a seating chart maker, it's very visual and simple," says Kear. "Just drag people from the guest list column, place them on chairs and move them around as needed. You can zoom in to see people's names on chairs, and the RSVP status for each guest is color coded so you can identify and remove guests who aren't coming. It's so much cleaner and faster than the old sticky note method of arranging and rearranging seating assignments."

And when you need to take your information with you, you can create to-scale, full-color printouts of your plans as well as download guest list assignment and equipment lists.

Planning Pod offers a free 30-day trial so event professionals can get a closer look at the table planning software / seating arrangement software tool. The company has also prepared an infograhic with floor plan best practices: The Quick Guide to Event Floor Plans and Seating Arrangements.
