LEXINGTON, Ky., Sept. 30, 2011 — Executive Leadership Coaches Peter Goryalov and Irina Goryalova of Bulgaria were awarded with the International Coach Federation (ICF) President's Award during the 2011 ICF Annual International Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Each year, an individual or organization is chosen by the ICF President to receive the award, honoring great contributions to the field of coaching and the ICF.
"There are so many ICF member coaches in the world who are doing such wonderful things in their communities. So many lives are enriched because of their work," said ICF President and Professional Certified Coach Ed Modell. "Peter and Irina stand out for their remarkable achievements over the past few years."
Peter and Irina, a married couple, formed the first coaching company in Bulgaria in 2006 and subsequently founded the ICF Bulgaria chapter. They planned the first coaching conference in Bulgaria in 2008 and when the economic crisis hit that year and all corporate event sponsorships were frozen, they had no choice but to cancel the event. Yet, through fierce determination, they overcame this adversity and by 2010 had formed ICF Bulgaria with a working Board of Directors, legal documents and website.
During 2011, Peter and Irina have increased ICF Bulgaria membership to 20 members, including five ICF-credentialed coaches. They have provided to their members a series of master classes, using the most modern video conferencing technology to "bring-in" leading coach trainers and authorities from Australia, the U.K. and U.S. The master class series is presented in partnership with the Bulgaria CEO Club and is hosted by SAP Labs Bulgaria.
"The master class series also has helped to build the Bulgarian compass," said Goryalov. "It's raising the benchmark for coaching through leading-edge perspectives and tapping into the wisdom of the Bulgarian participants to begin building the Bulgarian vision for development, implementation and contribution of coaching in all aspects of Bulgarian society for the next 10 to 20 years."
Other honors presented at the ICF Conference included ICF International Prism Award to JOEY RESTAURANT GROUP of Canada, and BC Housing of Canada, as well as the ICF Chapter Awards to ICF Greater Kansas City Chapter, ICF Gauteng (South Africa) Chapter, ICF Metro DC, ICF Uruguay, ICF Brazil, and ICF Spain.
