Plastic Surgery Portal Publishes Article About New Selfie-Worthy Surgery Trend

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Plastic Surgery Portal published an article about an uptick in plastic surgery patients in search of the perfect selfie photo.

Thirty-three-year-old Christa Hendershot wanted to show off her engagement ring on social media when she got engaged in 2013, but she realized she didn't like the way her hands looked. She decided to turn to plastic surgery to make her hands appear more selfie-worthy and paid over $3,000 for hand rejuvenation. Her doctor told ABC News that many of his patients brought self-taken photos of their hands.

"I've noticed over the last six months [that] patients actually bring a selfie in their examining room," Hendershot's doctor explained to ABC News. "They show me what bothers them and what they would like to fix."
