QuiltingHub Serves the Needs of Quilters and Quilt Shops With Innovative Features, More Listed Events Than Any Comparable Service

ORLANDO, Fla., May 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — QuiltingHub (http://www.quiltinghub.com/) is an elegant solution to what seemed to be an impossible problem: how to forge a stronger network among quilters and quilt shop owners, while providing a pool of reliable information on national quilting events. Remarkably, the site manages to check off all of those tasks, not to mention delivering a host of clever features.

For years, the quilting community was disjointed and isolated, and locating information on shops and events was difficult. QuiltingHub is a twenty-first century answer to this dilemma and has helped develop a professional and business network around the time-honored tradition of quilting.

"The idea for QuiltingHub came from a visit to a quilt shop," explained Founder Paul Johnson. "As I listened to some of the artisans discussing their biggest complaints, I realized that this was a problem I could solve. An information center for the entire quilting community, QuiltingHub is the culmination of years of hard work. Moving forward, I hope to develop the site even further, while staying true to its core principles."

QuiltingHub offers a plethora of benefits to users. The site links quilters with the necessary resources to find events and shops either nearby or anywhere else, all in a matter of seconds. Sales, classes, shop hops, and shows—you can find them all at QuiltingHub. And a unique travel feature displays all shops adjacent to a specified route, giving users the chance to browse for materials on the way to a convention, for example.

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the site is that it's designed for both quilters and shop owners alike, fostering a sense of solidarity. Shop owners can create a profile and then, for a small fee, have their online or offline business officially listed on site. Users can also suggest shops and events they would like to see added. The accuracy of information presented is carefully policed by the user community, so errors are spotted quickly.

The event schedule is truly the heart and soul of QuiltingHub. Currently, the site boasts listings for more than 3,400 events worldwide, far and away the most extensive directory of its kind. Every category and niche of quilting is well represented in this event listing.

Since its launch in 2012, QuiltingHub has developed a strong reputation for excellence and reliability. Industry-leading resource QuiltingEvents.com has named QuiltingHub the number one site to consult for event schedules.

Ultimately, Johnson's goal with QuiltingHub is to make it the default resource for quilters and quilt shop owners around the world. If the domestic success is any indication, conquering the international market in this fashion is only a matter of time.

About QuiltingHub

QuiltingHub is the brainchild of Florida native Paul Johnson. He was introduced to the idea for the site by patrons of a quilt shop in November 2009; they suggested the need for a better way to find shops, as well as a more exhaustive listing of important events. Initially, Johnson imagined spending about a year developing the site. Three years later, QuiltingHub became a reality. Within eight months of launch, the site had more quilting events listed than any other website in the world.

Johnson loves art quilts, well-laid-out fabric in shops, solving problems, and helping people. With a Master's Degree in Computer Science, he ran his own financial services company for seven years. He also enjoys teaching, learning new things, and cats. In his spare time, he helps people with Alzheimer's disease.
