Raymond Sanchez Receives ISCDD Leadership Award at ISCDD 2016 Annual Meeting

LAS VEGAS, March 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — The International Society for CNS Drug Development (ISCDD) announced today that Raymond Sanchez, M.D., Senior Vice President, Global Clinical Development at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, (OPDC), is the recipient of the 2016 ISCDD Award for Leadership at its 14th Annual Meeting.

The 2016 ISCDD Award was presented to Dr. Sanchez by Dr. George Garibaldi, the Chairman of the ISCDD Executive Committee, and Dr. Amir Kalali, Executive Secretary, ISCDD.

Dr. Sanchez was nominated based on his prolific record of leading the successful development of new treatments for patients with psychiatric and neurological disorders, as well as for his development of expert teams in CNS and innovative approaches in pharmaceutical medicine.

In an interview following the Awards Ceremony, Dr. Sanchez confirmed his and Otsuka's commitment to CNS drug discovery and the development of novel therapies to address unmet need in this field. He discussed the need for novel clinical trial designs, exploration of new therapeutic mechanisms, as well as leveraging technology to confront the ongoing challenges in pharmaceutical development and advance this area of research.
