Through more than 80 hands-on and engaging sessions presented by more than ten education experts and authors, educators will be given research-based techniques and resources to jumpstart critical thinking and develop literacy and math skills throughout the content areas. Interactive sessions will also address increasing student learning opportunities through effective time management, technology integration, exciting games and centers, and the application of best practices in differentiated instruction.

During the event held in downtown Chicago, attendees will discover innovative ways to prepare and manage a child-centered learning environment that provides students with hands-on opportunities to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively. The conference is headlined by award-winning educator and popular author Principal Baruti Kafele, and features top experts Danny Brassell, Ph.D., Lori Elliott, Ed.D., and Katie McKnight, Ph.D. Kafele and Brassell will deliver keynote presentations that focus on an educator's role in the everyday development of children through bringing joy to the classroom, and how to be intentionally excellent in all that one does as an educator.

Other popular presenters include award-winning educator and motivator Debbie Silver, Ed.D., Kathy Griffin, Lynne Ecenbarger, Donna Whyte, Pat Pavelka, and Sandi Reyes. Award-winning author Candace Fleming (of Muncha! Muncha! Muncha! fame) will present and be signing copies of her books. The line-up of expert presenters will share a diverse set of classroom-tested strategies, including small-group management in reading or math, techniques for behavior management or reducing anxiety, tactics for identifying holes in foundational skills and applying appropriate intervention strategies, and ways for making classroom teaching more effective.

The Reading, Writing, Math & More! conference is one of eight national conferences that SDE hosts each summer, divided between Las Vegas, Chicago, and Orlando.
