Rockhopper Adventure Trail Run Debuts as Newest Destination Race on Tropical Kosrae Island

TOFOL, KOSRAE, Federated States of Micronesia, Oct. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — The tropical island of Kosrae, located halfway between Hawaii and Guam, is home to some of the world's most unspoiled coral reefs and blue-water dive sites. Now divers and adventure travelers can experience Kosrae's stunning tropical landscape in a new way with the first Rock Hopper Adventure Trail Run on Monday, November 11. The 5.7-mile run will include on-road and off-road terrain. Runners and their cheering parties can enjoy exploring Kosrae's lush rainforests, ancient ruins, meeting local craftspeople along with world-class diving with one of Kosrae's local dive shops.

    Includes judging of the best local produce (including local coconuts), demonstrations of common skills such as climbing coconut trees and thatching a house along with games and local food and craft demonstrations
  • Malem Memorial Day: June 6, 2014
  • Utwe Memorial Day: July 20, 2014
  • Tafunsak Memorial Day: August 7, 2014
    Enjoy sporting events, local food and markets with local handicrafts, produce and fish at each village fair.
  • Liberation Week Festivals: September 8, 2014
    This celebration remembers the end of Kosrae's involvement in World War II.
