Safe-T Guru Earnest Hart, Jr. Reveals Important Safety Tips Female High School and College Students Must Know to Protect Themselves from Sexual Violence

Martial arts expert, author and four-time World Kickboxing Champion calls on parents, principals and college administrators to educate today's young women to recognize the warning signs of impending danger

ST. LOUIS, July 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — According to the US Dept. of Justice, National Institute of Justice and Bureau of Justice Statistics, nearly 25% of young women attending college are victims of rape or attempted rape. Remember, these are only the reported attacks. More than half of college rape victims tell no one of their victimization. Statistics also show 90% of acquaintance rapes involve alcohol. And, according to the National Institute of Justice, 84% of the college women who reported a sexual assault experienced the incident during their freshman or sophomore years.

"In today's world, there are no guarantees," Sensei Earnest Hart, Jr. states. "Despite our best attempts to protect ourselves from crime, bad things happen. I have worked with and proactively educated young people my entire career. I am on a mission to educate young women about sexual violence, and its prevalence in America's high schools and on our college campuses. I train young women how to recognize dangerous scenarios and how to avoid putting themselves in compromising situations…both on and off campus. Further, I teach them how to safely remove themselves from such dangerous scenarios when they feel vulnerable or threatened. I have conducted a lifetime of study into criminal behavior and there are behavioral warning signs about which our daughters, our young women and their parents MUST be educated. Visit www.earnesthart.com for Hart's "14 Safety Tips for Young High School and College Women."

Hart recognizes campus security and police officers can't be everywhere. They are a deterrent, but mostly a reactionary force. "It truly is about education…plain and simple. Our learning institutions strive to inform young women about sexual violence. Campuses strive to make higher education, campus life and the college experience as enjoyable and safe as possible," says Hart. "Liability (criminal, civil and monetary) and compliance issues weigh heavily upon our schools/campus safety directors. My training seminars help mitigate that liability. Most importantly, I teach young women self-awareness and safety techniques that may prevent them from having to live their entire lives with negative and demoralizing college memories. I educate people about the realities of today's society. I teach self-reliance, self-respect…how to recognize and react, in a safe and positive way, to potentially threatening human behavior…that most certainly includes sexual violence in its many forms."

Sensei Earnest Hart, Jr. holds black belts in 15 different martial arts disciplines. An actor and expert consultant in the movie industry, Hart has worked with stars like George Clooney, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Willem Dafoe. He has conducted martial arts instruction for the bodyguards of the Emperor of Japan, Chuck Norris' martial arts students and he's even trained the Super Bowl winning St. Louis Rams professional football team. He also conducts specialized seminars for corporations/executives.

Hart is also an author. "It's a fact," says Hart, "that one in 10 travelers will be a victim of crime. So my goal is to ensure readers remain safe when travelling." "How to Vacation and Travel Safely and Come Back Alive" is available through www.amazon.com and other fine online bookstores.
