A brother and sister team of local San Diego entrepreneurs launched their first Kickstarter campaign and are off to a great start with 50 backers in the first week of their 30 day crowdfunding campaign for their huge 10 x 10 ft. "Monster Towel"

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Aksel and Janice Chernitzky, a brother and sister team of local San Diego Entrepreneurs, launched their first Kickstarter Campaign for a huge 10 x 10 ft. towel. Made of special microfiber material that is thin, light, and highly absorbent. Their "Monster Towel" rolls up small and compact yet covers an area of 100 sq. ft.  That's bigger than a California King size bed.

The project is off to a great start with little or no marketing. Backers have come mainly from word of mouth. The team has raised over $2,700 in just one week. Projecting them to reach over $10K for their funding campaign.

The idea came about at the beach when the team remarked how uncomfortable people looked trying to fit groups onto small towels, blankets, and bed sheets. Later Janice happened to be drying off her car with a microfiber cloth, she suggested the material and later stitched together several smaller cloths to form the first prototype.

Over the next few weekends, the team can be found at a San Diego beach or park demonstrating their Monster Towel. La Jolla Shores beach goers volunteered to be featured in the group's second video to launch next week.

Being their first Kickstarter they are excited and grateful for the support they have received so far. Both Janice and Aksel are graduates of Francis Parker High School in San Diego. Aksel is a graduate of Boston University with a BS in Business Administration and a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Aksel hopes to one day help others launch successful crowed funding campaigns. Janice the star of the team's Kickstarter video is a USD graduate with a dual degree in Communications and Spanish.

After seeing the support the team has gotten for their Kickstarter campaign Janice said, "It's a great feeling to see people's reactions to our project, I am so grateful for the support we have gotten in making our idea come true."

The team is hoping to reach their funding goal on Kickstarter of $8,000 to be able to run their first production turning their idea of a huge 10×10 ft. towel into a reality. Reaching their stretch goals would mean more color choices.

When asked why they picked this idea Aksel said, "It's a fun project that solves a very basic need when having fun outdoors."

The team needs all the support they can get to reach their goal, to support them and get your own Monster Towel check them out on www.MonsterTowel.com or Kickstarter and pledge before Sept. 15.
