InspirED was unveiled at the Emotion Revolution Summit at Yale University on October 24, 2015. The event was held to build awareness of the critical role emotions play in young people's learning, decision-making, and overall wellness. It gathered youth from around the country to share their ideas for creating improved learning environments with key educators, academics, and policy makers. Six Seconds' leaders Anabel Jensen and Susan Stillman as well as Born This Way Foundation Co-Founders Lady Gaga and Cynthia Germanotta, Yale President Dr. Peter Salovey, and Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence Director Marc Brackett attended the event.

Six Seconds CEO Josh Freedman sees InspirED as invaluable, "This collaboration with major players in the fields of emotional intelligence and social media has huge potential to change the way schools integrate emotional knowledge into their programs. We are gratified to be offering our expertise in the topic of emotional intelligence to this inspiring project."

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

Facebook will bring the InspirED resources to teens and educators in the next year. Six Seconds has created a special InspirED free eLearning program for educators to develop additional social emotional learning skills:

The InspirED Educator Toolkit includes over 20 practical, effective online lessons for teachers wanting to foster school environments where children learn from their emotions, rather than keeping them hidden. Facebook provided their business and technical expertise and design savvy to bring the project to fruition. See http://eq.org/learn/courses/inspired/ for details and to get started.

The goal of InspirED is to give educators simple ways to implement social emotional learning in their schools. The program supports teachers in being more satisfied and effective in their roles in the classroom. Additionally, InspirED seeks to improve classroom climate and student success.
