"Our annual Sheehy 5000 event is unique in the industry, combining the biggest sales event in the Mid-Atlantic with a great fund-raising effort from our employees and customers," said Vince Sheehy, President and CEO of Sheehy Auto Stores. "This year we have partnered with the American Heart Association to help raise funds to educate and help prevent the many heart disease-related deaths that have become so prevalent in our community."

In addition to a portion of sales benefiting the charity, Sheehy dealerships throughout Washington DC, Richmond, VA and Baltimore, MD each led community outreach initiatives that included blood pressure screenings, car shows and event sponsorships. Internally, more than 100 back-office employees participated in Lunch & Learn events where they received CPR training and other heart-healthy tips.

"We appreciate the Sheehy Auto Group leadership, employees, partners and customers for their support of the American Heart Association's mission," said Michelle Nostheide, Vice President of Marketing at AHA. "The awareness and the funds raised will make a direct impact on the heart health of the people in our communities and will save lives."

The mission of the American Heart Association is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
