New leadership for the publishers of the Lawyers Diary and Manual(R) and eLaw brings both historical and fresh perspective
NEWARK, N.J., March 10, 2011 — Skinder-Strauss Associates, publisher of the renowned Lawyers Diary and Manual® and http://www.eLaw.com, the source of critical knowledge for busy legal professionals, announced Andrew Strauss has been named Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Strauss spent more than a decade as a partner in the highly regarded private equity group, The Riverside Company. While with Riverside, he invested $167 million in a wide variety of companies and generated returns of 24% annually. From 2005 to 2010, he led Riverside's investment in the court-reporting firm Veritext, and served as its chairman through this period of rapid growth, generating a 38% annual return for Riverside's equity.
The appointment underscores Strauss' historical ties with Skinder-Strauss. The company was founded by Andrew Strauss' grandparents in 1929. Strauss began his working career in the family business, championing the release of its first electronic product before leaving for MBA studies at Columbia University in 1996.
