RALEIGH, N.C., Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Teddy Pierce, a junior at Saint David's High School and striker on the varsity Soccer team was recently honored with four major awards: The Eastern Plains Independent Conference (EPIC) Player of the Year award; named to the All-State Team; named to the All-Conference Team and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the Saint David's Varsity Soccer Team.
Pierce's recognitions are the result of his spectacular playing skill. Pierce finished the season with a record of 30 goals and 12 assists. Pierce's skill has gained him the admiration of soccer elites such as Chris Carrieri and Daniel Paladini.
"I remember the first time I met Teddy @ XL Soccer world as he dazzled his way through kids that were 3 to 4 years older than him and scoring goals. He is a tremendous talent with exceptional foot skills, vision and soccer sense. He rigorously trains to become better each day with his club or school teams or on his own," stated Chris Carrieri, former player for the San Jose Earthquakes and Carolina Railhawks.

Daniel Paladini of the Chicago Fire Soccer Team echoed the same sentiment about Pierce's talent and work ethic stating, "I spent time with Teddy for a couple years in North Carolina when I played for the Railhawks. He was a kid that stuck out to me because he reminded me a bit of myself. Meaning when I was his age I did a lot of the same things he is doing now. Someone once called me a soccer rat meaning everywhere I went I wanted to play soccer. Always wanting the ball at my feet is how I fell in love with the game. And I see Teddy following those footsteps. If he keeps up his work ethic and keeps showing the willingness to learn there is no telling how far he can take his career."
In addition to playing for Saint David's High School, Pierce also trains to enhance his skills at XL Soccer World in Raleigh, North Carolina.
