Keep Your Staff Better Informed with Buffalo Computer Graphics' DisasterLAN Version 9.2

BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Key emergency management staff cannot always be in the EOC, therefore it is critical that their incident management tools go with them into the field.  Version 9.2 of DisasterLAN (DLAN) continues to make DLAN a powerful mobile tool by automatically sensing that a user is connecting from a phone or tablet, and then optimizing ticket management tools to respond to smaller screens and touch based interactions.  This allows field staff to easily use any DLAN tool from a mobile device giving them the power to respond to missions, requests, donations, and reports wherever they are managing the incident.

During an incident, it is vital that staff be kept informed even when they are not logged in to the system.  DLAN automatically adapts the system for offline usage by sending email notifications to offline users whenever a new incident or ticket is modified that requires their attention. These notifications summarize changes that were made, give users links to quickly access DLAN from their mobile device, and allows them to stay informed even when logged off of DLAN.

DLAN Product Manager Tim Masterson notes, "Planning, Response, Recovery, and Mitigation often require emergency management staff to make decisions in the field.  DLAN's new mobile enhancements give responders the tools they need to stay informed wherever they are."

In addition to these powerful mobile improvements, Version 9.2 brings with it additional enhancements to help DLAN users more efficiently work with Twitter, report damage assessments, talk to other users, and more. Finally, to better support our Canadian customers and US based communities that share a Canadian Border, DLAN now offers support for reading MASAS based interoperability messages directly into the DLAN Communication Center module. MASAS is a multi-stakeholder Canadian initiative that works to enable the sharing of location-based situational awareness information and alerts. Combined with other powerful feed monitoring systems, MASAS integration is one more way DLAN users can track the intel they need to make decisions.

DLAN is a web-based incident management system designed for use in emergency operations centers to manage both planned events and disasters using ICS and NIMS standards.
