Syndicus, Inc. Scientific Services, SOAPware Announce Strategic Alliance

ANNAPOLIS, Md. and FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., April 4, 2012 — Syndicus, Inc. and Fayetteville, Ark.-based healthcare solutions provider SOAPware, Inc. have forged a strategic alliance that will ultimately help Maryland-area primary care practices transition from paper-based records to federally mandated electronic health record/electronic medical record (EHR/EMR) systems. Together, the companies will work closely to promote and sell SOAPware's innovative EHR-hosted solution – SOAPware 2012, which the company launched in the fall of 2011.

SOAPware, which has 17 years of industry experience and is ranked in the top 2 percent of vendors helping practices achieve Meaningful Use, will implement its full enterprise-wide clinical suite product, which is customized to allow patients and their care team to actively participate in creating the documentation.

According to Randall Oates, M.D., founder of SOAPware, Inc., this software, which was designed by a physician for physicians, increases productivity with regard to the doctor/patient experience.

"We don't force doctors into a series of checklists or picklists to capture datapoints necessary to improve healthcare documentation and measurement," Oates said.

Both Dr. Oates and Syndicus CEO Michael McNees are excited about the opportunity to both merge similar company core values – and most importantly, minimize the impact the EHR/EMR transitions/implementations have on patient care and providers' revenue streams.

"SOAPware is aligned with our strategic objectives and is as driven as we are in helping providers comply with local, state and federal regulations. This alliance will help create awareness with providers and patients, and facilitate a comfort level for physicians transitioning from paper-based practices to a fully automated EHR system," McNees said.
