SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Tastemade's fantastically original food lover's program Thirsty For took home a coveted James Beard Award in the New Media category during this year's James Beard Foundation Book, Broadcast and Journalism Awards.

Hundreds of the finest tastemakers of the food and beverage industry tipped a glass Friday night at Gotham Hall in New York City as Thirsty For… took home the James Beard Award for Video Webcast, Fixed Location and/or Instructional.

Produced by Tastemade's Eric Slatkin and Jay Holzer, Thirsty For… shows us drink recipes from around the world, artfully shot in HD with mouth-watering images and deep cuts of music.  The series has showcased over 60 drinks from around the world already and have received over 11 million views.

With a goal to connect people through food, Tastemade's slate of original programming is about more than just eating; it's about savoring, not just the food itself, but the experience of preparing it and sharing it with others in an array of brilliant destinations and contexts.

Due to popular demand from around the globe, the Thirsty For… series was recently localized into multiple languages and published on local Tastemade channels in Portuguese, German, French, Spanish and soon Japanese.  In addition to YouTube, the series is also being distributed to a wide variety of digital platforms including Facebook, AOL, Hulu, & Pinterest.

The 2nd Season of Thirsty For… is being shot and distributed in 4K — bringing a whole new level of quality and richness to food programming online.  Tastemade continues to redefine the way today's generation interacts with food on a digital platform and is fulfilling its mission to connect the world through food.
