The STC will be wholly owned by Telefonix, Inc., will be applicable to Boeing 737-700/800/900 aircraft, and will include the already mentioned Summit™ products, plus a complete aircraft installation kit.  This installation kit will include installation trays, cabling, antennas and control panels.  To act as the STC applicant and designer of the installation kit, Telefonix PDT has selected Astronics Armstrong Aerospace (http://www.armstrongaerospace.com).  Astronics Armstrong has completed a number of B737 STCs, which will greatly shorten the certification time. Telefonix PDT is extremely excited by the rapid progress it has made in bringing these new products to market.  The Summit™ line of IFEC hardware products represents the latest wireless protocols and processor/chipsets available.  This announcement comes one year from the initial launch of the product line, which was announced at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg last year. This rapid advancement is exactly what is needed to support the quickly emerging BYOD market.   Alan Manns, Director of Business Development at Telefonix PDT says, "Receiving an STC and PMA for these products will mark a major milestone and will enable the adoption of next generation features for our customers' IFEC applications."

System Flexibility leads to Enhanced Customer Experience

Telefonix PDT Summit™ products are "agnostic" in that they interface with different IFEC systems, including air-to-ground, satellite connectivity systems, or traditional wireless Audio / Video on Demand (AVOD) entertainment systems.   With today's announcement, Telefonix PDT is presenting new opportunities to the marketplace by operating as a true partner to all IFEC providers, including small and mid-size providers who may not have the resources to act as a prime contractor.
