Television Submissions for the Art Directors Guild's 18th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards Now Open

Additional Category Announced: Short Format Live-Action Series

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Television submissions are now open for the Art Directors Guild's (ADG) 18th AnnualExcellence in Production Design Awards taking place on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. This year's awards will recognize the inclusion of internet-based programming for television programs. A new category has been included in the program that will honor a Short Format, Live-Action Series. The official announcement came from John Shaffner, ADG Council Chairman and ADG Award Producers Raf Lydon and Dave Blass.

Shaffner said, "This new award recognizes that people are watching their shows in different ways and exciting new forms of programming are being produced to satisfy these other formats."

Nominations for ADG's Excellence in Production Design Awards will be announced January 9, 2014. The ADG will present winners in ten competitive categories representing theatrical films, television productions, commercials and music videos. As previously announced, Rick Carter will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and Robert Clatworthy, Harper Goff and J. Michael Riva will be inducted into the ADG Hall of Fame.

The Excellence in Production Design Awards are open only to productions, when made within the U.S., by producers signatory to the IATSE agreement. Foreign entries are acceptable without restrictions.
