Therma-Flite's Indirect Thermal Desorption Process technology recovers 99.5% of hydrocarbons from drilling mud and refinery waste streams like tank bottom sludges and spent catalyst fines. The Therma-Flite process recovers the diesel and oil from the waste streams in a manner in which the diesel and oil can be resold or reused with little to no additional processing.  Blonquist has developed and brought onsite many successful thermal desorption operations in areas that include the US, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, UK and the Middle East.  Therma-Flite is proud to enlist Blonquist in its efforts to implement sustainable solutions for the Oil and Gas market.

Therma-Flite's thermal desorption technology is especially well adapted at processing sludges with high levels of hydrocarbon.  The traditional technology in the industry requires diluting down the hydrocarbon level in the feedstock prior to introducing the feedstock to the thermal desorption unit.  Therma-Flite's thermal desorption technology has the added benefit of being able to accept these sludges in concentrate.  Furthermore, most thermal desorption technology cracks the light hydrocarbons like diesel (used extensively as a lubricant in drilling for natural gas) producing byproducts which render the diesel less valuable. Blonquist's contributions have solved problems such as these and more in the Waste Management Industry.

"The reputation and integrity displayed by the company is what attracted me to Therma-Flite," says Blonquist. "They are a top notch company that is focused on problem solving in the industry.  They set the bar when it comes to technology and are passionate about growing the business." In an industry known for boisterous personalities, Blonquist is described as a reserved, yet driven individual who is known for his ability to develop and implement solutions to difficult problems.

Blonquist's immediate focus is to reorganize and manage the thermal desorption business while assisting the leaders of Therma-Flite, Inc. in developing effective solutions for the Oil and Gas sector. He is by far what many consider a "quiet leader," but the impact he has in the industry speaks for itself and has defined him as a problem solver and solutions driven leader. Uniting with a company that is solutions driven as well makes Blonquist a perfect fit to lead the Oil and Gas sector of the business.
