Thrilling Family Saga "When Death Won't Do" Announces the Arrival of an Exciting New Voice in Modern Fiction

CHANDLER, Ariz., Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — William Arsenis's debut novel has the qualities of both an engrossing page turner and a sweeping epic, a combination rarely seen in today's popular fiction. The author believes there's a ready-made audience of readers who sorely miss those sprawling epics so popular in the '80s, and he's written "When Death Won't Do" partially with those readers in mind. The book is available now for download on the Amazon Kindle store: http://www.amazon.com/WHEN-DEATH-WONT-William-Arsenis-ebook/dp/B00F2QMUTG/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top.

"When Death Won't Do" is grand narrative that follows two siblings—Kory van Luden, a chess grandmaster, and Damon van Luden, a ruthless and elite military commando—who vie for the affections of a beautiful young woman. The first to marry will control the family trust fund, valued at 400-plus million dollars. The events of the novel unfold across 5 countries and more than 50 years.

"As an airline pilot and the son of a diplomat, I've had the opportunity to meet many interesting people from all over the world," explains Arsenis. "I incorporated my own personal experiences along with what I learned from extensive interviews with people who were there, in the countries and time periods I write about, to make the novel as realistic as possible given the fast-paced, plot-intensive nature of my writing."

Arsenis added: "I wanted my first novel to take the reader on a heart-rending journey of love, obsession, and betrayal and conflict that ultimately leads to a profound inner transformation, not only for the characters, but hopefully for the reader as well."

Feedback for "When Death Won't Do" has been positive: "… I must admit that I was hooked from the very beginning. There are so many dimensions to this work: the family saga … and the page-turning mystery of how it will all resolve kept me riveted until the very end."

The most revealing piece of feedback was the reader who expressed sadness when finishing the book—a testament to the fact that despite the trend toward brevity, a more ambitious novel can find an audience, too.

Owning a Kindle is not necessary to enjoy Arsenis's novel; the Kindle app works on every major smartphone, tablet or computer. Plus, Amazon's Whispersync technology means that reading progress, bookmarks and notes are automatically saved across all devices.

Arsenis has no intention of resting on his laurels. He's already begun drafting his next work of fiction, a time-travel romance entitled "The Paradise Syndrome."

About the Author

William Arsenis has been writing since he was a child, but it wasn't until 2011, a year after he went on disability and his career as an airline captain was put on temporary hold, that he had the luxury of being a full-time author and he could get started on publishing his first novel, "When Death Won't Do. "

Still a chess enthusiast, but no longer a fanatic, you won't find him studying for competitions anymore. Instead, he prefers to spend his time with his family, at the piano, and, of course, writing.
