MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa, Sept. 6, 2007 — The dilemma facing most people in the upcoming holiday season is, "what to buy that hard-to-shop-for individual?" The China Connection has the answer with its newly released toy – Splatt-urs(TM).
Splatt-urs(TM) do just what the name implies – they "splatt," stick, and then regain their shape and release! These toys are made of a special plastic, formed into collectable shapes, and water-filled. Ruth Lycke, President of the China Connection, was the first American stroke survivor to seek Traditional Chinese Medical treatment in Mainland China in 2004. "It has been more than 3 years since my treatment and I have taken over 70 people to China for treatments with amazing results," Lycke said. Determined to provide the same opportunity to more stroke survivors, she began a quest to find a way to offset costs and provide the best therapy possible. The Splatt-urs(TM) came about after an extensive search to find a fun product that could be enjoyed by all and sold for the benefit of stroke survivors' rehab.
"It can seem overwhelming when you know that more than 700,000 people are struck down with strokes each year, and it is the number 1 cause of disability in the US," Lycke said. "We all want to do our part in helping others, and now we can through Splatt-urs(TM)."
The toys are addictive! They make kids out of the oldest adults, and are hours of fun for both children and grown-ups alike. The great benefit comes when you realize that the proceeds fund the non-profit organization supporting stroke rehab, the China Connection Foundation.
"The spelling of Splatt-urs(TM) is very important," said Lycke, "because U R the reason for our existence and success in providing ongoing stroke rehab!" Splatt-urs(TM) are now available for purchase at a growing number of stores and online at .
