The University of Scranton Announces Bisk Foundation Teacher Education Scholarships for 100% Online Master's Degree in Education

Teachers looking to excel in today's academic environment can apply now for scholarships valued at 25% cost of tuition

TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 20, 2011 — The University of Scranton, a U.S. News & World Report-ranked and regionally accredited university, is excited to announce the availability of scholarships for teachers through the Bisk Foundation Teacher Education Scholarship program. Applications are currently being accepted.

Two exceptional educators will be awarded a total of $8,494 for the Spring B, 2012 session through University Alliance, a division of Bisk Education. Recipients will receive special tuition rates through graduation by remaining an active University of Scranton student in good standing.

These scholarships are awarded to help talented educators excel by earning a Master of Science in Education in either Curriculum and Instruction or Educational Administration. These programs empower teachers to shape lives and make a difference, whether teaching in the classroom or leading as an administrator.

With the availability of these scholarships, now is the time to enroll in the University of Scranton's 100% online program, which provides students with 24/7 access to courses. The university's video-based e-learning model, powered by University Alliance, means that campus visits are not required.

"The University of Scranton is proud to support the higher academic and professional goals of outstanding educators," says W. Jeffrey Welsh, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Graduate and Continuing Education at The University of Scranton. "We look forward to helping foster their continued success."

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate that they have had a positive impact on the lives of others
  • Hold a bachelor's, master's, specialist, or doctorate degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA from an accredited institution
