Valensa Appoints Dennis Nagle as Vice President of Production

Veteran of Pharmaceutical and Specialty Chemical Industries to Direct Manufacturing of High-Quality Botanical Extracts

ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 17, 2006 — Valensa International has appointed Mr. Dennis Nagle as Vice President of Production for the company's manufacturing facilities located in Eustis, Florida. In a career that spans more than 25 years, Mr. Nagle has held senior manufacturing positions in both the pharmaceutical and specialty chemical industries. That experience includes two firms in which he oversaw nanotechnology manufacturing and other firms where he oversaw the implementation of cGMP operations for the manufacture of materials regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration. Mr. Nagle will direct all manufacturing operations at Valensa's manufacturing facilities including the company's ultra-high pressure supercritical CO2 DeepExtract(TM) operations located in Eustis, Florida.

According to Dr. Rudi Moerck, President of Valensa International, the appointment of Nagle supports the company's continuing drive to develop new technology for the manufacture of commercially interesting ingredients for nutraceutical supplements, functional foods, general nutrition, functional cosmetic ingredients and pharmaceutical formulations. It also underscores the increasing relevance of pharmaceutical manufacturing technologies for the nutraceutical market as the industry increasingly moves toward cGMP as a standard. "Technology-based manufacturing solutions are increasingly becoming an important part of the drive toward efficacy and quality that characterize the nutraceutical, functional food and cosmetics industries. Dennis Nagle has the background and experience to lead our manufacturing capability to the next level as we strive to become the premier supplier to those industries," said Moerck. "At Valensa, we will create the most advanced nature-based products in the markets we serve. Our key technology platforms include extraction, formulation, delivery, and product stabilization. The company vigorously supports sustainable harvesting practices and manufacturing technologies that are environmentally sound," he added.

Prior to joining Valensa, Mr. Nagle was Vice President of Operations at Altair Nanotechnologies (Reno, NV), a developer and manufacturer of novel advanced nanomaterials. Previous experience for Mr. Nagle includes work as an Operations Manager at Atotech USA, where he managed the operation of that company's Global Competence Research Center. Mr. Nagle was Director of Operations at Zeeland Chemicals (Cambrex), a firm that was engaged in the production of pharmaceutical intermediates under cGMP conditions. He was also Vice President of Manufacturing at Nanophase Technologies Corporation, a company involved in the production of nanocrystalline materials. Early in his career, Mr. Nagle worked for chemical industry giants Ashland Chemical and Olin.

Mr. Nagle was awarded B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering and in Engineering Administration from Michigan Technological University. He served as an Ensign in the United States Navy.
