Zounds! Woot! Brevity is the Soul of (T)wit 8 2 Brute? The Bard's Tweeting and Shakespeare Sez Launches Cool Online Marketplace to celebrate Will's 450th

Treasure Trove of Shakespearean quotes refashioned as Tweets to capture 21st century fans.

CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Happy 450th Birthday Will! In celebration of that momentous occasion, we hereby proclaim the April 23 launch of: Shakespeare Sez…a new on-line marketplace: www.shakespearesez.com with scaddes of funne and merrie stuffe from the Iambically Pentametric Thumbs of the Bard of Avon for the Literati of the Twitterati.

William Shakespeare – clutching his Smartphone – in time for his birthday bash – has been transported (make that catapulted, thumbs first) from the Elizabethan era into the second decade of the 21st Century.

More than 400 years ago, Will Shakespeare penned his now immortal phrase "Brevity is the Soul of Wit".  However, in keeping with today's zeitgeist, Shakespeare Sez: "Brevity is the Soul of (T)wit".  This Will is everywhere with thumbs flying. Dressed in natty business attire, surrounded by cool, anachronistic props to inspire him, he can be found: pondering the vast mystery of life (2B/nt 2B Dat Iz Da ?); suffering the ultimate political betrayal (8 2 Brute?); whipping up reptilian concoctions in the kitchen (Dubl x 2, Toil n Trubl, Fyr Brn & Cldrn Bubl); humbly accepting rather dubious awards (Sum r Brn Gr8, Sum Acheev Gr8ness); as a lonesome cowboy, out on the range (A Hors a Hors, My Kingdom 4 a Hors); and he's tweeting all his experiences in under 140 characters…and proud to be starring in his own Shakespeare Sez animated YouTube videos.

Beginning April 23rd, Willz wit n wizdum will be available on a treasure trove of stuffe, for Shakespeare and Twitter aficionados to: wear, tote things in, hang, drink from, write on, cook with, smarten up their desks, wow over-educated friends…or just flaunt.

"The concept came in an epiphany five years ago, from a hilarious interview by New York Times columnist, Maureen Dowd, with the Twitter founders," says Myrna Saturn Gatty, Shakespeare Sez' Founder/Co-creator and veteran performing arts producer and marketer. "Dowd clearly saw no value in Twitter," Gatty continued. "Would Shakespeare have tweeted?" inquired the unconvinced writer. "Brevity's the soul of wit, right?" was the Twitter response. "Ah," Gatty thought. "What about 'Brevity is the Soul of (T)wit'?  What if we have Will tweeting that quote (and lots of others) on his smartphone? We design cool graphics, put them on various products and sell things on-line to clever folks with a sense of humor." And so it began.

The principal creative team is far-flung and decidedly international communicating over an ocean and across time zones. Ms. Gatty and husband, Trevor (a world-traveled British diplomat), live in Charlotte, NC.  Shakespeare Sez, Co-creator is Daniel Rodriguez, a NYC graphic designer (Photographics NYC) whose operations have moved "across the pond" to Dublin, Ireland, where he now resides. Artist/Illustrator, Peggy Walz, has a studio on NYC's Upper West Side.

And in the run-up to his birthday bash, he's proud to be starring in his own Shakespeare Sez animated YouTube videos.

But, while Will eagerly awaits his historic and memorable birthday, our newly-minted Twitter aficionado has a lot on his mind.  After the significant event of the Twitter IPO, he, along with legions of Twitterati, continue to face a troubling dilemma…"2 buy/nt 2 buy dat iz da ?"
